However, startups in this tech area frequently struggle to scale due to extremely steep upfront costs for manufacturing equipment required to develop prototypes and MVPs. A Mountain-West-based PIA was working to foster and grow the ecosystem of quantum startups in the region by mapping federal programs that could serve as commercialization partners for these startups.
